Winamp 2.9

Did a quick search for this, but didn't come across a definitive answer.
Just grabbed the latest 2.9 release of WinAmp and loaded in MAD, Enhancer, some of my fav skins, etc. But I recently updated my soundcard to an Audigy2. Using MAD as the default plug-in (and the Nullsoft one for streaming audio), but what is the optimal setting for output? DirectSound or WaveOut? Any pros/cons with each one? Which one would deliver better sound quality? Or are they both the same.
Running DirectSound now with Enahncer 017 (great so far), unless WaveOut is indeed better / preferred choice..?
